Our Mission
MyBaziDestiny is an independent educational project built to make BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) easier to understand in English. We separate what the calculator can determine from birth data from the broader cultural interpretations traditionally associated with a chart.
Our free calculator generates the Four Pillars, identifies the Day Master, and provides a simplified Five Elements overview with general personality and environment guidance. It does not currently calculate Ten Gods or 10-year Luck Pillars. Those concepts are covered as educational material rather than presented as personalized calculations.
What We Cover
Our reference material focuses on:
- Classical BaZi theory — Based on texts dating back to the Tang and Song Dynasties, including the foundational works of Li Xuzhong and Zi Ping.
- Five Elements (Wu Xing) theory — The philosophical framework underlying all Chinese metaphysics, from the Book of Changes (I Ching) to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
- Ten Gods (Ten Deities) system — Explained in educational content as a traditional relational framework; it is not part of the current calculator output.
- Chinese zodiac compatibility — The 12-animal system with its Six Combinations, Three Harmonies, and clash relationships.
Our Values

The calculator follows the sexagenary cycle, changes the year at Li Chun, and uses the month-starting solar terms for Month Pillars. Calendar code is tested against known day-pillar and solar-term boundary cases. Traditional interpretations are presented as cultural guidance, not scientific fact.

Your birth data is personal. We do not sell your information to third parties. Your chart calculations are performed client-side whenever possible.
Our Methodology
Our BaZi calculator uses the following methodology:
- Solar terms (节气) — Year and Month Pillars use a standard solar-term calculation model rather than Gregorian month boundaries.
- True solar time option — When a supported birthplace is selected, users may apply a longitude-based time correction.
- Heavenly Stems & Earthly Branches — All Four Pillars (Year, Month, Day, Hour) are calculated using the traditional sexagenary cycle (六十甲子).
- Interpretation scope — Current personalized results cover Four Pillars, Day Master, a simplified Five Elements distribution, and general lifestyle guidance.

- 滴天髓 (Di Tian Sui) — “Dripping Heavenly Marrow,” a foundational BaZi text
- 渊海子平 (Yuan Hai Zi Ping) — The classic compilation by Xu Zi Ping
- 三命通会 (San Ming Tong Hui) — “Comprehensive Treatise on the Three Fates”

These works have multiple editions and interpretive traditions. We use them as historical context and do not claim that metaphysical readings are scientifically validated predictions.
