Year and month use solar-term boundaries
The Year Pillar changes at Li Chun, the Beginning of Spring, rather than on January 1 or Lunar New Year. A birth before Li Chun remains in the previous sexagenary year for this calculation.
The Month Pillar changes at the 12 month-starting Jie solar terms. It does not switch on the first day of a Gregorian or lunar month.
02 / Day and hour
Sexagenary day and two-hour branches
The Day Pillar is derived with civil-date arithmetic against a fixed sexagenary reference. The implementation uses UTC-based date math to avoid browser daylight-saving shifts changing the entered civil date.
The Hour Pillar uses the traditional two-hour branches. Zi hour covers 23:00 through 00:59. When birth time is unknown, the calculator returns a three-pillar chart and does not invent an Hour Pillar.
03 / Location
Optional longitude correction
When a supported city is selected and true solar time is enabled, the calculator estimates a correction using:
(city longitude - time-zone standard meridian) x 4 minutes per degreeThis correction can move the effective time across an hour-branch boundary. It is optional and affects the Hour Pillar, not the birth date entered by the user.
Timezone limitation
The bundled city list uses static UTC offsets. It does not query a historical timezone or daylight-saving database. For births affected by historical DST, political timezone changes, or an unlisted location, users should confirm the appropriate civil time independently.
04 / Supported data
Date ranges and approximations
The lunar conversion table covers 1900 through 2049. Solar-term calculation uses mean offsets and is intended for dates from 1900 through 2100. Mean-term calculations are suitable for this calculator's calendrical boundaries but are not a substitute for a high-precision astronomical ephemeris.

Birth details and chart calculations run locally in the web browser. The tools may use browser storage to preserve user-entered details or paid access on that device. PayPal processes payment information; MyBaziDestiny does not receive card details.
