The Day Master (日主 or 日元) is the most important element in your BaZi chart. It represents YOU — your core personality, how you interact with the world, and your fundamental nature. It is determined by the Heavenly Stem of your Day Pillar.
There are 10 possible Day Masters, each corresponding to a combination of element and polarity:
The Big Tree. Strong, upright, and determined. Natural leaders who stand tall through any storm. Tend to be rigid but incredibly reliable.
The Vine. Flexible, graceful, and adaptable. Bends without breaking. Excellent at navigating complex social situations.
The Sun. Radiant, generous, and warm. Lights up every room. Natural performers and inspirational leaders.
The Candle. Warm but focused. Illuminates small spaces brilliantly. Detail-oriented and quietly passionate.
The Mountain. Solid, dependable, and strong. The foundation everyone relies on. Patient and trustworthy.
The Farmland. Nurturing, fertile, and supportive. Grows whatever is planted. Excellent at cultivation and patience.
The Sword. Sharp, decisive, and strong-willed. Cuts through nonsense. Natural protectors and enforcers.
The Jewel. Refined, precious, and elegant. Values quality over quantity. Beautiful under pressure.
The Ocean. Vast, deep, and powerful. Contains multitudes. Natural philosophers and strategists.
The Rain. Gentle but persistent. Nurtures everything it touches. Highly intuitive and perceptive.
